Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat announced himself to football fans across the globe with impressive performances at the 2022 World Cup with Morocco.
Manchester United were linked with a loan move for Amrabat in January, but Fiorentina were quick to reject such a move midway through the season (via MEN).
The Moroccan midfielder has now fuelled the speculation that he could be on the move to a top English club this summer, claiming ‘it would be nice to play in the Premier League’.
Amrabat will face English opposition tonight in the Europa Conference League final against West Ham, which will see him battle with fellow United target Declan Rice.
Speaking ahead of the final, the 26-year-old said (via Daily Mail): “Of course, the Premier League is a fantastic league, one of the strongest in the world.
“it would be nice to play there one day, but it’s not that I want only to go to England, because Spain is nice, Serie A is a nice league.
“Football has changed a lot, it’s more physical, you have more to be an athlete, the tempo and intensity is higher.
“Of course, in England the intensity is very high, so I think it would suit me.”
Fiorentina vs West Ham will kick off at 8pm in Prague. It will be a good chance to see players linked with summer moves to United come face-to-face.
West Ham are expected to demand big m money for their captain, while Fiorentina would Amrabat at a smaller price.
Only time will tell if the difference in price reflects the difference in ability between the two internationals.
