Young Red collects Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award at Old Trafford

Kobbie Mainoo is this season’s winner of the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.

It likely comes as no surprise to Manchester United supporters, as Mainoo is one of many exciting prospects lighting up Carrington and catching the eye of Erik ten Hag.

The 18-year-old has been a constant standout performer in the youth setup, so much so that he was granted his first-team debut by Ten Hag this term.

He has featured in three competitions; Mainoo made a 10-minute cameo against Leicester City in the Premier League, a 17-minute cameo in the FA Cup against Reading, and his first-ever start came in the Carabao Cup versus Charlton Athletic in the quarter-finals of the competition.
