Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho has enjoyed an incredible breakthrough season.

Even though Garnacho has only returned to the squad from injury, there were calls for the young forward to start at the weekend, but Erik ten Hag went with Antony and Jadon Sancho on the wings.

Garnacho came on after 72 minutes and instantly had an impact on the game, with his trickery and driving runs up the left flank.

Ten Hag played a hand in offering Garnacho a new contract to reward him for his performances this season. In turn, everyone at Old Trafford believes he has a bright future ahead of him.

Speaking to MUTV, former academy player Danny Webber stressed that Garnacho has plenty of time on his hands and that it may take two years for the winger to hit his full potential.

“There’s a lot of growth in him the next couple of years, not just next season but the season after,” Garnacho told MUTV, as quoted by United In Focus.

“You’re looking at ability, mental strength is massive. You’re going to see his physical strength build in the next few years and he will go on from strength to strength.”
