Report: Manchester United in ‘advanced talks’ with Napoli defender

Even though nobody knows what is going to happen with the potential takeover of Manchester United, reports in Italy suggest the Reds have already kickstarted their quest for transfers in the summer window.

It is believed Manchester United are pressing ahead with talks over a move for Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae.

Manager Erik ten Hag has a number of positions to improve this season, with a centre-forward believed to be a priority.

However, it sounds like Ten Hag will want to improve his defence too.

According to Tuttomercato, United are in ‘advanced talks’ over a move for Min-jae and suggest we could pay between €50-60m for his signature this summer.

Napoli could lose Min-jae if United pay his release clause – worth around £43 million – as early as June.

Min-jae has only been in Italy for one season and he helped end Napoli’s 33-year wait for a Serie A title along with fellow United target Victor Osimhen.

Meanwhile, Calciomercato claim Min-jae is on Liverpool and Tottenham’s transfer list. There’s nothing like competition.
