Manchester United have sent an apology letter and signed shirt to a Sevilla supporter after a false accusation.

According to a tweet posted by Rocio Escribano, her daughter, Adriana, was removed from Old Trafford after it was alleged that she had used a flare during the Europa League quarter-final first leg last month.

However, after analysing the surveillance footage of the stadium, the club then found no evidence to back up the initial claim.

Escribano’s tweet reads: “They were wrong. The flare was thrown near her and she was expelled from the field for no reason. They found no image or evidence to justify what they did. Manchester apologises and sends my daughter @adrianaparejoo a signed shirt as an apology.”

She also shared a picture of the package her daughter received from the Red Devils.
