Winless against the top nine: Ten Hag has his work cut out with United’s away form

Erik ten Hag must improve Manchester United’s away form next season.

After tonight’s dismal 1-0 defeat, the Red Devils are now winless against the top nine teams in the Premier League table away from home.

Some of those results have been particularly catastrophic, including the 7-0 to Liverpool, 6-3 to Manchester City and 4-0 to Brentford.

Obviously, the team have improved in so many aspects, one being that the club currently boast 22 clean sheets across all competitions despite keeping just 10 in total last season.

However, form faltering so often on the road is simply unacceptable if we want to compete at the highest level, especially if we secure Champions League football next term.

Home form a positive

On a brighter note, Old Trafford is becoming a fortress again, and that’s something that Ten Hag can continue to build on. United have tasted defeat on home turf just once this season in the league and the Theatre of Dreams is slowly becoming a place that teams fear visiting again.
