(Video) Tensions reach boiling point at the Amex between United and Brighton

The tension at the Amex has reached boiling point between Manchester United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

It’s clear to see why, too, as the referee failed to show cards earlier on in the game and has been very apprehensive about blowing his whistle in the second half.

There was a five-minute period in which Andre Marriner appeared to just let every tackle go unchallenged and let play continue as normal, with players on both sides growing visibly frustrated at the lack of intervention by the officials.

Antony attempted to create an attack before being fouled by Alexis Mac Allister and Brighton subsequently regained possession.

After realising he wasn’t being awarded a free-kick, he jumped to his feet and got stuck in himself with a tackle on the Argentinian, which was then flagged as a foul.

Take a look at the aftermath that followed, with both Antony and Lewis Dunk ending up with yellow cards for squaring up to one another.
