A statue of Manchester United legend Jimmy Murphy has been unveiled to supporters at Old Trafford today.
The club held a ceremony this afternoon to honour the former coach and assistant manager to Sir Matt Busby.
May 3 was chosen as the most fitting date to hold the unveiling as it is 65 years on from the day Murphy led the team out at Wembley for the FA Cup final against Bolton.
He is also commemorated in other ways across United, including Carrington’s Jimmy Murphy Centre and the Young Player of the Year award, which is given to one Red at the end of each season.
