(Video) Erik ten Hag waves green and gold scarf after win over Aston Villa

Erik ten Hag gets it.

The Dutch manager has been an instant hit at Manchester United since becoming manager at the start of the season.

And, in what has been a brilliant season for the Reds, United still have an FA Cup final to look forward to after already clinching the Carabao Cup.

To make matters even better, Ten Hag’s side are on course to finish in the top four. A narrow win over Aston Villa on Sunday has set the team up for a strong finish to the season.

At the final whistle Ten Hag picked up a green and gold scarf and waved it in front of the Stretford End, just hours after fans led an anti-Glazer protest from the city centre to Old Trafford.

As Ten Hag went down the tunnel, he picked up a green and gold scarf, which is a symbol not only for Newton Heath but for fans who have opposed the American owners since 2005.

The crowd cheered in response.
