Wan-Bissaka reacts to James Maddison’s glowing review of his defensive abilities

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was made well aware of James Maddison’s complimentary tweet during last week’s FA Cup semi-final.

Wan-Bissaka put in an exceptional shift during the clash at Wembley, keeping prolific winger Kaoru Mitoma quiet throughout his time on the pitch.

During the game, Leicester City talisman Maddison took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the United right-back and gave a glowing review of his defensive attributes.

The defender was questioned on whether he’d seen the England international’s post in a recent interview with Sky Sports and responded:

“I saw it and I didn’t know if it was real or not but yeah, that’s some nice words from him. Grateful to see things like that from people like this [Maddison].”

Wan-Bissaka has earned extended stay at Old Trafford

It’s true, too. There have been concerns in the past regarding Wan-Bissaka’s attacking abilities but that’s undoubtedly improved under Erik ten Hag, so it’s clear why he’s become a regular starter in recent months.

Considering he looked to be on his way out last summer, I like to think he’s earned his spot in the squad next season, as I believe the club would regret letting him go elsewhere.
