Sir Jim Ratcliffe presents offer that could keep Joel & Avram Glazer at Manchester United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is offering a deal for Manchester United that would keep Joel and Avram Glazer at the club as stakeholders.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who note that this would be a highly controversial act, which has already angered large sections of United’s fanbase across social media.

One of the options tabled by Ratcliffe would see him take a controlling stake of more than 50 per cent, with the two Glazer brothers retaining a combined 20 per cent.

The worst scenario would see the Glazers remain at the club — whether it’s 2 or all of them — after 17-years of struggle under their debt-ridden ownership.

It is understood that closing bids for Manchester United are due later this week with the deadline set for Friday. That is when Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani set to present his final offer.

The Qatari consortium want full control of United.

Mike Keegan reports that Sheikh Jassim has no interest in taking a partial stake. With the money at his disposal, you can see why.

The journalist adds that a winning bidder will be selected within days, which could mean we’ll have new ownership before the upcoming transfer window.

Erik ten Hag will undoubtedly want to start planning ahead of June, when he will aim to add more quality to his squad.

We know that the best players don’t come cheap and that a future under the Glazers would be bleak for the club, regardless of what Ten Hag has achieved in his first season at Old Trafford.
