(Video) Erik ten Hag insists Man United can bounce back after Sevilla humiliation

Manchester United are looking to bounce back from their latest disappointment this season after a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League.

The defeat follows a string of capitulations this season and Erik ten Hag has done well to get his side back up and running previously but the Dutchman faces the challenge of doing it once more as United enter a gruellling final five weeks of the season.

The defeat in Seville, which means United have now been eliminated by Spanish opposition in Europe for the sixth successive season, has sparked an inquest into the Reds’ form lately.

Ten Hag has, however, insisted that United will be able to bounce back from their European exit as they target passage into the FA Cup final ahead of Sunday’s semi-final against Brighton.

“You ask a lot in one question but of course, I always think about do I refresh because I have a squad,” Ten Hag told the Manchester Evening News, as seen above.

“But also, I know that we, in this season when we had bad defeats (and) bad performances, we bounce back. I’m convinced, I have strong belief we can do (it) again because we have the experience.”

Ten Hag most famously engineered a spectacular unbeaten run following the 6-3 defeat to Manchester City last October and more recently, United recovered from a three-game winless run in the league to record three straight wins.

That has, however, been undone recently and United need to dig deep to end the season strongly. It has already been a promising first campaign for Ten Hag but it is vital that they continue to build on that.

The six-year wait for a trophy was ended earlier this season but the chance to add another trophy should be enough motivation for a squad of players that has mostly been starved of silverware.
