Four Manchester United players have made the 40-player shortlist for the EA Sports Premier League Team of the Season.
In defence, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez are among the candidates to be included in this season’s star-studded XI. Both players have been exceptional at the back but also going forwards, as the pair are able to create threatening attacks with their outstanding passing or crossing abilities.
In midfield, and this comes as no surprise, Casemiro is on the list. The Brazilian hasn’t become one of the most highly-decorated players in world football for no reason, and his experience and talents have completely revitalised the Red Devils’ midfield since he arrived. The stability he provides to each game most definitely makes the players around him feel more at ease, and any attacker from the opposition would fear going up against our No.18.
United’s top goalscorer, Marcus Rashford, has been named among the attackers. Again, it’s no surprise; the Englishman’s goals across the campaign so far have made the Reds one of the most threatening teams in Europe.
Rashford has netted 28 goals and assisted a further 10. He is undoubtedly in contention to win United’s Player of the Year after overseeing the most prolific season of his career so far, and hopefully, we can see him back in action very soon to add to his tally.
