Our predicted Manchester United line-up for Sunday’s trip to The City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.
The Red Devils can oversee a third consecutive win and clean sheet with a dominant performance this weekend.
Erik ten Hag has suffered injury blows in the form of his first-choice centre-back pairing Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane. Both defenders sustained problems during last night’s Europa League clash with Sevilla, and it is unconfirmed when they will be able to return to action.
However, the manager could be granted the return of recent absentees Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay at his disposal. The pair will need to train well ahead of the game and providing they do, they could be named in the matchday squad.
Predicted United line-up
De Gea
Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Shaw, Malacia
Shaw has proven he can play faultlessly in a central role and Ten Hag has deployed him there numerous times this season if other centre-backs have been unavailable. If he’s fit, he has to start.
Casemiro, Eriksen
Casemiro can finally make his return to domestic action after serving a four-game suspension, as well as Christian Eriksen’s return to the starting line-up. Given the changes to the backline, having those two in midfield is a huge relief. The experience and stability they bring can change a game.
Antony, Fernandes, Sancho
The fixture may come too early for Marcus Rashford, who continues to recover from a groin problem.
Martial
Anthony Martial started yesterday evening and lit up the pitch in the first half with his creative build-up play. He assisted Marcel Sabitzer’s second goal and certainly has the prolific ability to provide the goals for United on Sunday.
