Match preview: Injury-stricken Manchester United take on survival-chasing Nottingham Forest

Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest this Sunday, April 16 in a Premier League clash at The City Ground.

The Red Devils will make the trip to the East Midlands to face the Tricky Trees in a bid to see out a third consecutive league win and clean sheet.

United currently sit fourth placed and trail to Newcastle only through goal difference. Meanwhile, Forest have found themselves in a relegation scrap upon their return season to the top flight after 23 years.

They are currently in the bottom three on 27 points but will have a clearer picture of how the other relegation candidates fared over the weekend ahead of kick-off, as United and Forest are Sunday’s late game.

The last meetings between the clubs in all competitions resulted in three United wins at an aggregate score of 8-0.

However, Forest’s desperation to clinch every point on offer to them may see them capitalise on a depleted United squad and see out a result, especially in front of their faithful and vocal supporters.

Both sides face injury woes

Both sides have been plagued with injuries to numerous key players; Erik ten Hag looks set to be without first-choice centre-back pairing Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, as well as Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and long-term absentee Donny van de Beek.

On the other hand, the East Midlands side could be without players such as Renan Lodi, Ryan Yates, Chris Wood, Serge Aurier and several more, including United loanee Dean Henderson.
