Feyenoord duo Orkun Kokcu and Santiago Gimenez have reportedly become a transfer targets for Manchester United.
United are one of six Premier League clubs that were said to have had scouts at Feyenoord’s KNVB Cup semi-final clash with Ajax, as per The Mirror.
Kokcu, who plays in midfield, could attract a bid worth £31m from Benfica in the summer – but I don’t think United would have to twist his arm too much to persuade him towards a Premier League switch.
It is suggested in the report that Erik ten Hag knows Kokcu well from his days coaching Ajax.
On the other hand, Gimenez has had a positive impact since joining Feyenoord from Mexican side Cruz Azul last summer, scoring nine goals with the Dutch side five points clear at the top of the Eredivisie.
United need to sign an elite-level goalscorer, but it would be a good idea to sign a second striker. A young option with a high ceiling to develop into a top player.
