Manchester United are likely to search the market for a right-back alternative this summer, with Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka both entering the final year of their contracts.
Dalot recently had his contract extended by an additional season and United still have the option to do the same with Wan-Bissaka but as things stand, there are no concrete developments on that front.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Bundesliga star Jeremie Frimpong was among the targets for the Old Trafford club this season, with Bayer Leverkusen even expecting the Netherlands defender to leave the club.
Now, journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has provided a positive update on the situation from a United viewpoint.
Jeremie Frimpong, keen on Manchester United possible move — not advanced yet as his agent met with #MUFC, FC Bayern and Barcelona. 🇳🇱
Interest in Frimpong doesn’t change the situation of Diogo Dalot at this stage as new long-term contract talks are still ongoing. pic.twitter.com/ljyRLn3Q7y

As per Romano, the 22-year-old is keen on joining United this summer but a move is not deemed to be advanced as his representatives have held talks with the Reds, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Furthermore, it’s added that although United are keen on signing Frimpong, it does not change Dalot’s situation and talks over a new and improved deal for the Portuguese international are still ongoing.
SN’s verdict…
Frimpong is, undeniably, one of the Bundesliga’s hottest prospects right now and it would be a real coup if United were able to sign him.
The uncertainty over United’s long-term options in that position also means that regardless of whether Dalot and Wan-Bissaka stick around, Frimpong should be pursued.
man u need to leave bissaka alone and also dalot we can get Jeremie Frimpong as a regular player but option should be bissaka and dalot there should be competing for a regular start too and man u should a good options on. the bench we want bissaka to stay don’t sell him or loan him either
Honestly! I would love to see Man U keep WanBissaka alone, with Dalot also stays.
Frimfong to coming is a good news, but please don’t sell Wan Bissaka, rather loaning him out.
Bissaka has has improved and we need him so lets sell dalot and bissaka stay for a good competition
Sell dalot and bring crimping, cause bissaka is very good in defense, when dalot is in the play they mostly use his wing to score
