Club already preparing for player’s departure as Man United hold talks

Manchester United are preparing for another busy summer in the transfer market and there are a number of areas Erik ten Hag would like to improve.

Ten Hag is likely to make the arrival of a striker his priority but focus will also be placed on other departments, with right-back still an issue from last summer.

United wanted to add a right-back to the ranks last summer but a lack of funds and failure to move players on meant that a move never materialised.

Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka both have just one year remaining on their current deals and there are no signs of extensions in either case.

That could mean that United look to the market and Jeremie Frimpong, the Bayer Leverkusen star, has now been thrown into the mix.

According to German reporter Patrick Berger, the 22-year-old is a ‘top’ target for the Reds this summer and could move to sign him.

As per the report, early talks have even been held with the defender’s entourage and Leverkusen are said to be preparing for his impending departure, having already begun finalising a deal to sign his potential replacement.

SN’s verdict…
Frimpong has two years remaining on his contract at Leverkusen and could prove to be a bargain purchase if United pull the trigger on the deal.

He is one of the Bundesliga’s hottest properties right now and his qualities, mainly in the attacking third, are something Ten Hag does not currently have in his United squad.

    1. Were you saying that 5 months ago? I don’t think he’s attack-minded enough, hence why we’re reportedly after a new right-back.
