Bayern Munich’s chief financial officer has suggested the Bundesliga giants will not get drawn into a transfer race over Tottenham striker Harry Kane. This could be good news for Manchester United – but business this summer will depend heavily on whether the Glazer family sell our club.

Kane, 29, has been the subject of transfer speculation as we approach the end of the season. There will be 12 months left on his current deal, so a decision will be made one way or other.

It is understood that Kane is Manchester United’s primary target ahead of the transfer window. Erik ten Hag wants to sign an elite-level striker, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen being another name heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

Bayern Munich are one of the clubs that multiple sources believe could challenge United for Kane’s signature, should England’s all-time record scorer leave Tottenham.

With the transfer window over two months away, Bayern Munich’s chief financial officer Dr Michael Diederich said (via The Mirror): “I don’t rule anything out but can we afford such a transfer and do we want such a transfer? We have to keep an eye on our profitability.”

Bayern, like United, know that dealing with Tottenham won’t be easy. Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator and he will demand more money from a domestic rival looking to sign Kane.
