Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton has predicted that Everton will pose a tough test for Manchester United.
Sean Dyche’s side battled to nick a late draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park last time out, but they face a completely different test on Saturday when they travel to Old Trafford.
Former United defender Michael Keane scored a 25-yard screamer on Wednesday night, which made matters worse for Spurs after sacking Antonio Conte.
However, writing his latest Premier League predictions column for BBC Sport, Chris Sutton admitted that Everton’s threat from set-pieces could pose problems for United, but he still expects a home win.
“Manchester United are anything but free-flowing at the moment but they still found a way of beating Brentford on Wednesday,” Sutton wrote.
“United are in a decent position to make the top four with Tottenham hitting the buffers a bit, but it is important they keep pushing on, especially at home.
“Everton will not make it easy for them and, since Dyche took charge at the end of January, they carry more of a threat now, especially from set-plays — but I still see United edging this.”
Everton’s draw against Spurs was evidence that they are improving under Dyche, and he should have enough to keep them afloat in the Premier League.
Truth be told, I wouldn’t mind it if they went down, but most importantly I want three points this weekend.
