Birmingham starlet would jump at chance to join Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Birmingham City youngster Rico Browne.

Birmingham City U21s’ captain will be hounded to sign a new contract because his current deal expires in the summer.

In turn, Browne is likely to get linked to several clubs because whoever represents him will be looking for the best move for his development and career.

According to Football Insider, United are compiling an extensive dossier on the 19-year-old defender after being alerted about his potential availability at the end of the season.

Browne had trials at West Ham two years ago, as per Birmingham Live, although it remains to be seen if the Hammers are interested in joining the race for his signature.

The report adds that Browne would jump at the chance to join United if the club has a clear plan for his development.

Browne has yet to make a first team appearance for Birmingham, but he could join a talented group of young players at Old Trafford.

Only time will tell but we’ll keep our eye on this one.

  1. He looked very good a few years back but after a whole load of injuries he hasn’t really progressed. Maybe the United scouts are basing their judgement on his previous performances and know that he is out of contract in the summer so it’s a low risk addition.
