(Video) Scott McTominay sets sights on ‘two more trophies’ after crucial Premier League victory

Scott McTominay has his sights firmly set on lifting more silverware with Manchester United this season.

The midfielder started tonight’s clash with Brentford in the absence of Casemiro, who served the third of his four-game suspension.

After a lacklustre display against Newcastle United at the weekend, the Scotsman put in a determined shift this evening and did not put a foot wrong alongside Marcel Sabitzer in the middle of the pitch.

Marcus Rashford’s first-half goal, his 28th of the season in all competitions, was enough to get the Reds over the line and back into the top four after dropping to fifth following Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-1 draw with Everton on Monday.

Post-match, the Scotland international reacted to the win to MUTV.

“That’s what the message was: to bounce back. I thought the play in the first half was pretty good and we controlled the game really well. In the second half, we lacked a little bit of composure in the final third.

“I thought we really fought hard, they’re a really tough team to play against. For us, it’s fighting and digging in, there’s a game every three days for the foreseeable future toward the end of the season and it’s a squad game.

We’ve got some good players coming back and that’s important. Fingers crossed we get to all the finals and that’s something the manager has reiterated to us, that it’s a squad game and hopefully we’ll win two more trophies.”
