As Manchester United fans, we feared the worst when Luke Shaw went down the tunnel during the second half in Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over Brentford, after holding his hamstring and walking gingerly.

Tonight we’ve thankfully been dealt some good news.

According to The Times, it is understood that Shaw’s substitution was made as a precaution and that after further tests, United’s staff do not regard the problem as serious.

This, however, does not suggest Shaw is injury free or available for Saturday’s game against Everton.

The left-back will be monitored over the next 24 hours before a decision is made on when he can play again.

Tyrell Malacia will be available to replace Shaw, should his recent muscle injury rule him out of United’s next game. It wouldn’t make sense to right the England international with so many important games coming up this month.

On another positive note, Christian Eriksen is back in contention to face Everton. We suspect he will be named on the bench.
