Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial available for Newcastle clash

Marcus Rashford is set to be fit for Manchester United’s game with Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that Rashford has resumed training and could be in contention to play against the Magpies this weekend.

Manchester United head to Newcastle where they will be hoping to strengthen their hold on the top four race.

On Friday, Ten Hag spoke to reporters and explained Rashford’s current situation after missing International duty with an injury.

Ten Hag said (via Evening Standard): “I have good hope, he trained but he had to have some treatment, he had to do some individual training.

“Today he joined in with the group. We have one more day. I have a good hope he will be available.”

It was a benefit to United that Rashford missed the international break because he has been playing a lot of football this season. Furthermore, United still have a lot to play for this season. That matters more than some Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Ten Hag added that Anthony Martial has been training for two weeks and could return, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News: “He’s training, so for two weeks now, I think he can be in.”

United’s game against Newcastle kicks-off at 4:30pm.
