Manchester United undecided on Ruben Neves pursuit amid speculation

Manchester United are reportedly undecided on whether or not they will pursue Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ruben Neves this summer.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive Daily Briefing with CaughtOffside, as he weighed in on the current speculation regarding Neves’ future, saying:

Whilst a striker will be top of Erik ten Hag’s transfer list, a new midfielder would only strengthen the squad further.

Romano confirmed today that the Red Devils will reopen talks in the summer over Scott McTominay’s future and his potential exit from Old Trafford, with Newcastle United eyeing a swoop for the Scotsman.

Should United bid for Neves?

If McTominay does leave, another alternative should be acquired to provide backup to Casemiro because, let’s be real, his on-field antics have got him into quite a bit of bother in his first season in England, and we can’t rule out any more suspensions in the future.

Neves, 26, has just over a year left on his contract at the Molineux and Wolves will know that should he become available, clubs will certainly be interested in the proven midfielder.

If a takeover of the club is completed by the opening of the next transfer window and Ten Hag is granted the funds to strengthen his squad, a bid in Wolves’ direction for Neves wouldn’t go amiss.
