Man UTD frontrunners to land 6ft 3in dominant ace from France

Manchester United are keen to add a centre-back to their ranks this summer, with several departures expected in that area as Erik ten Hag continues to revamp his squad.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are the undisputed first-choice centre-backs as things stand, leaving captain Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in uncomfortable situations.

Furthermore, Eric Bailly is set to return from his season-long loan at Marseille but there is little belief that the Ivorian will be able to stake a claim for a first-team place. Phil Jones, who has not made an appearance since April last year, is out of contract in June.

That has led to Ten Hag scouring the market for alternatives and now, it’s being reported that Monaco star Axel Disasi could be one to watch.

According to French football insider Santi Aouna, United are interested in signing the France international, with the club even holding talks with the defender’s representatives earlier this month.

It’s also claimed that Monaco would be open to selling Disasi if their asking price of roughly £44m is met but other Premier League clubs could also enter the race.
