(Video) Marco Silva speaks out on Andreas Pereira’s return to Old Trafford ahead of FA Cup quarter-final

Andreas Pereira returns to Old Trafford for the first time since leaving Manchester United permanently last summer.

The midfielder spent 11 years at the club and worked his way through the ranks at Carrington before becoming a key player in the senior setup.

Pereira slowly fell out of favour for the Reds in the later stages of his United career and consequently left on two loan spells, for Lazio and Flamengo respectively, before departing for Fulham for an undisclosed fee.

Ahead of today’s quarter-final clash, Marco Silva weighed in on his player returning to his old club whilst speaking to ITV.

He’s making his impression from the first day with us, that’s the main thing for me.

This afternoon I want him to express himself on the pitch like he’s been doing since the beginning of the season. Of course, it’s a special game for him, we cannot hide that situation – so many years at this football club. But I want him to be calm enough, confident enough to express himself.”
