Man Utd ready to offer Victor Lindelof in swap deal to land Dutch ace

The off-season is approaching and thus, preparations for the summer transfer window are beginning and Erik ten Hag will be keen to make some changes to the squad.

Ten Hag oversaw wholesale changes to the side when he took over last year but a lack of funds and time meant he was not able to address all of the issues he had identified upon joining the club.

Signing a centre-back was among his priorities and he certainly got that one right and Lisandro Martinez immediately became a fan-favourite at Old Trafford.

That has come at a cost for one or two players, however. Victor Lindelof was a regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for several years but he has dropped down the pecking order under Ten Hag.

Now, it’s claimed that United are willing to part ways with the Sweden captain as part of a sensational swap deal. That’s according to Football Insider, who say that Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries is the subject of Old Trafford interest once more.

As per the report, United hold a longstanding interest in Dumfries and Ten Hag was keen on signing his countryman in the most recent January transfer window.

Additionally, it’s claimed that Inter are looking to add a centre-back to their ranks following the shock departure of Milan Skriniar, who will join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of this season. It’s claimed that the possibility of a swap deal for the two players is a ‘real possibility’ this summer.
