Sabitzer starts: Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Fulham in FA Cup quarter-final

Manchester United host Fulham this Sunday, March 19 in an FA Cup quarter-final clash at Old Trafford. Kick-off is at 4.30 pm.

It is the Reds’ third quarter-final of the season; last night they booked their place in the last-eight of the Europa League and they have already secured the first piece of silverware on offer in the form of the Carabao Cup.

Now, attention turns back to domestic action and Erik ten Hag will know that the FA Cup is a realistic prospect of another trophy in his first season.

Should United progress, they will undoubtedly be one of the major favourites to win it. Rivals Manchester City remain in the competition as well as Brighton and Hove Albion, who face the lowest-ranked side – Grimsby Town.

Predicted starting line-up

De Gea

Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw

Varane will get a rest over the international break due to his recent retirement, which gives Ten Hag peace of mind that the world-class defender will not be risking any injuries.

Sabitzer, Fred

Casemiro will serve the first of his four-game suspension. Luckily, Sabizter has just returned to fitness and featured in last night’s victory in Spain, so he will likely partner Fred in midfield.

Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford

Antony was ruled out of the Betis clash with injury. If he is still a doubt, Ten Hag will no doubt utilise Sancho and since the Englishman did not receive an England call-up, he will also get a rest over the next fortnight.

  1. All good, but Pelllestri to start ahead of Sancho, who has looked better off the bench. Pelllestri shows signs of gathering a bit of momentum and EtH will be keen to develop him further.
