Manchester United prepared to make Harry Kane the most expensive British player of all-time

We are asking ourselves if Harry Kane has reached his breaking point or is he going to do an Alan Shearer and turn down trophies to stay at Tottenham Hotspur?

According to The Mirror, Harry Kane is Manchester United’s No.1 summer transfer target — with the Reds willing yo make him the most expensive British player of all-time.

A top quality centre-forward like Kane or Victor Osimhen is what this team needs, but it would be far from the missing jigsaw. The midfield and defence still needs work and we require better depth to fight on all fronts next season.

The report claims Kane is planning to hold talks with Spurs’ hierarchy at the end of the season but the chances of him agreeing to a new deal to stay beyond 2024 are thin.

We can’t imagine Antonio Conte is making his decision any harder, but the Italian is unlikely to be at the London club next season.

However, on Sunday, Spurs blew away the gloom of a demoralising 10 days as Kane’s double helped them to a 3-1 defeat of Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Apparently Ten Hag believes Kane’s potential arrival will turn United into genuine title contenders.

That said, he will need to spend more than the £100m City spent on Jack Grealish.

United should be looking for two strikers this season because Anthony Martial is not reliable enough.
