Manchester United eye swoop for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Sports Witness relay a report from Tipsbladet regarding Hojlund and claim Manchester United have joined Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli and Real Madrid in the race for the young striker.

At just 20-years of age, we don’t blame you for not knowing who Hojlund is, especially when few of our readers pay much attention to Italian football. They’re United fans.

While that won’t stop a few attention seekers pretending like they’ve spent months scouting Hojlund, providing ‘insight’ and stats via social media, we have to look at what is being reported across Europe.

The centre-forward has scored nine goals in 21 games since his summer move to Atalanta and there is already suggestions that he could be ready for a big move later this year.

The Dane has impressed, as his goal tally would suggest for such a young striker, and he even compares himself to Man City striker Erling Haaland.

“I see parallels between myself and Erling Haaland,” Hojlund himself said upon his arrival in Austria, as per Goal. “He is fast, left-footed, tall, has a good nose for goal and is a classy finisher. His mentality is also completely insane!”

Verdict

Maybe this wouldn’t be a bad backup option next season should United sell Martial in the summer, but the Reds should be going all out for the best striker in Italy at the very least. I’m talking about Victor Osimhen.
