Man United receive huge Carabao Cup final boost as star player is spotted with squad

Manchester United are on the hunt for their first trophy since 2017 and Erik ten Hag has the chance to mark his first season in charge of the club with silverware later this weekend.

United will face Newcastle United at Wembley on Sunday, just days after the Reds recorded yet another memorable night at Old Trafford on the European scene.

Barcelona, who were lucky to escape from the first leg with a 2-2 scoreline, fell victim to an unstoppable second-half performance from United, who will now face Real Betis in the round-of-16 in the Europa League.

A rare spectacle in that game was that Marcus Rashford’s name did not show on the scoresheet, with the 25-year-old’s stunning goalscoring run now sitting at 16 goals in his last 18 games.

There were worried faces at Old Trafford after the game, however. Rashford limped off the pitch with roughly 10 minutes to play and in his pre-final press conference, Ten Hag admitted that he did not know if his talisman would be fit to play at Wembley.

Now, with less than 24 hours to go before kick-off in London, the Reds have been handed a huge boost as the red-hot winger has been spotted with the travelling squad, as seen below.

Rashford has scored 24 goals so far this season, his best campaign since his first term (2016/17). United do not currently have a like-for-like replacement but should he still be unavailable, Alejandro Garnacho is likely to start in his place.

Antony’s return from injury is of huge importance ahead of a busy schedule, with Jadon Sancho’s reintegration also proving to be valuable for Ten Hag.
