Gary Neville hijacks former Manchester United teammate’s MUTV interview

Gary Neville at Old Trafford for Sky Sports, but he couldn’t help himself when it came to heckling a former team-mate doing work for MUTV.

Ben Thornley was part of the Class of ’92 that won the FA Youth Cup. The former winger now works for Manchester United’s in-house broadcaster MUTV, so he was busy working on the build-up for today’s game against Leicester City.

Thornley had been asked whether Erik ten Hag made the right decision to rotate a few players for the game against Leicester City, when he was already without key player Casemiro through suspension.

“Forget the Barcelona game,” Thornley said, as per the Manchester Evening News. “Forget Sunday, this is equally as important because of the way the teams around us…”

Then Neville appeared, up to his hold tricks…

Neville shouted from behind the camera: “You’re not the manager, you don’t have to give a standard answer!”

Shock was clearly written on Thornley’s face as well as host Stewart Gardner as both were took by complete surprise.

“Sorry about that,” Neville then said while popping his head into the camera shot before mocking Thornley by imitating him. “The next game is the most important one. We’ve got to concentrate on the next one, forget about Barcelona.”

Thornley took the joke well, and said: “I can’t wait to get my own back.”

Hopefully we see Thornley on Sky Sports soon!
