David Moyes targets summer move for Manchester United striker

West Ham could make a move for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial in the summer.

It is understood that David Moyes will be hoping to bolster his attacking ranks when the transfer window opens later this year and the former Manchester United manager could launch a bid to sign Anthony Martial.

In 2021, the Daily Star ran an article suggesting that Manchester United wanted to offload Martial following the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. West Ham were linked with the Frenchman at the time – as were Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa.

Martial stayed and we’re still asking the same questions. Will he ever kick on become the player so many of us expected him to become after his incredible breakthrough under Louis van Gaal? His injury record this season has been appalling and I wouldn’t be against the idea of moving him on in the summer.

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, as per TEAMtalk, West Ham manager David Moyes ‘really likes’ the 27-year-old year. Martial’s direct style of play could be something his Hammers side are lacking in attack.

Martial has missed 66 games for United through injury since the start of the 2018/19 season, as per Transfermarkt, which means West Ham would be taking a risk like Sevilla did (on loan) last term.

West Ham held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw this evening to make life at Stamford Bridge all that bit harder for Graham Potter.
