Real Madrid starlet praises Casemiro after another dominant midfield display against Barcelona

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr was keeping a close eye on his fellow Brazilian during yesterday’s clash between Barcelona and Manchester United.

Casemiro returned to the starting lineup last night for the first time in 13 days. His red card against Crystal Palace has kept him ruled out of Premier League action for the past two game weeks, but he is able to partake in European fixtures.

The 30-year-old also returned to Spain to face his former rivals and given his nine-year stint with Los Blancos, you can imagine the reception he received from a packed Camp Nou. Similarly, they weren’t best pleased to see the return of defensive powerhouse Raphael Varane.

Casemiro anchors Ten Hag’s midfield

Casemiro offered yet another dominant display at the heart of United’s midfield in a game in which the Reds were undoubtedly the better of the two teams. It was again a testament to the quick turnaround Erik ten Hag has instilled on a once unspirited and uninspired squad.

Post-match, United’s No.18 took to Instagram to react to the game, saying: “Good job lads! All to play for in the second leg at Old Trafford!”

His Selecao teammate Vini responded in the comments: “Joga muito”, which translates to “Plays well”.
