(Video) Hannibal Mejbri answers Erik ten Hag question after impressive display vs West Brom

Hannibal Mejbri was the man of the moment on Friday night as he was involved in both goals for Birmingham in their 2-0 win over promotion hopefuls West Bromwich Albion.

Mejbri has been climbing through the ranks at Old Trafford since he joined the club from Monaco in 2019 but he’s now getting his first taste of consistent senior football.

The midfielder is a regular for Tunisia but Erik ten Hag will be hoping a full season in the Championship aids his development ahead of pre-season next year.

Mejbri scored a smart free-kick to give Birmingham the lead and early in the second half, he assisted the second goal. Speaking after the game, when quizzed on if he’s expecting a call from Ten Hag after his dominant display, the 20-year-old insisted he just needs to stay focused.

“I just need to focus,” Mejbri told Sky Football when asked about his manager at United, as seen above.

“I’m sure he has Sky but I just need to focus until the end of the season and we’ll see what happens in the summer.”

Mejbri is one of several youngsters hoping to break into the senior United squad over the next 12 months, with fellow Championship loanee Amad Diallo also impressing.
