Manchester United are attracting interest from America, China and Singapore in takeover talks

Manchester United are attracting interest from the likes of America, China and Singapore in their bid to oversee outside investment into the club.

The Times confirmed today that there has been a desire shown to join the bidding process for United. It also suggests that serious interest in investment is more limited than the Glazer family expected, especially given their price tag of £6 to £8  billion.

This week reports circulated regarding Qatari interest in a takeover of the club. The party is not linked with Qatar Sports Investments (Paris Saint-Germain’s owners) and the money would be coming from an individual fund, rather than a sovereign wealth fund. There have been direct conversations between them and the Red Devils’ hierarchy.

Bids to be submitted in coming week

The process is being handled by the Raine Group and there is a mid-month deadline of Friday, February 17 set for all bids to be submitted, meaning supporters should expect further updates over the coming days.
