Jim Ratcliffe has sought help from JPMorgan Chase & Co and Goldman Sachs Group to advise him throughout the process of bidding for Manchester United, as per Bloomberg.
Ratcliffe is the Chief Executive Officer of INEOS chemicals group and has confirmed his intent to join the bidding war for United, who were put up for sale by the Glazer family towards the end of 2022.
The Englishman has a net worth of around £15.7 billion, according to Forbes, and will need to have tabled his offer by the deadline of Friday, February 17.
Other parties in the race for Red Devils’ ownership
United have also attracted interest from America, China and Singapore. A report which gained immense traction this week confirmed that a group of private investors from Qatar were joining the race for the takeover of the club – and the two parties have opened talks.
The Raine Group will be handling the sale, with the current owners expecting to receive a fee of £6 – 8 billion for the transfer of ownership.
The forthcoming weeks will be pivotal to the future of United and supporters will likely hear ongoing updates throughout the process.
