Predicted Manchester United XI vs Nottingham Forest: Iqbal, Garnacho and Pellistri all start

Stretty News predicts Manchester United’s line-up for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United already have one foot in the Carabao Cup final after winning the first leg 3-0 at the City Ground. Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest side have little to no chance of coming back from that, even though Erik ten Hag has the opportunity to rest several key players.

That said, we all know that underestimating our opponents is a recipe for disaster, though there will be the temptation to rotate the squad.

Jack Butland could make his debut between the posts after joining on loan from Crystal Palace earlier this month. He will stand behind a back four consisting of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Malacia.

In midfield, Scott McTominay and Fred could provide experience alongside Zidane Iqbal.

Alejandro Garnacho is due a start on the left, while Facundo Pellistri gets on the nod on the right flank. Wout Weghorst remains the only viable option up front due to injuries, so he’ll likely continue his run in the team.

Ten Hag will have a number of options to pick from on the bench. We could even see Jadon Sancho make a return at some point.

Predicted Manchester United XI vs Nottingham Forest: Butland; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Martinez, Malacia; McTominay, Fred, Iqbal; Pellistri, Weghorst, Garnacho.

  1. Please spare us from this Maguire this ,this guts is something else we haven’t qualified for the final also Scot is a total disaster he will handle a player in the box ,he plays with hands not legs same with Maguire they handle opponents

  2. Despite a three goal lead, EtH will still have plenty of respect for Forest – good thing too. I’d prefer a strong starting XI with many subs once we’re home and dry.
