Marcus Rashford had the chance to extend his stunning form earlier on Saturday as Manchester United welcomed Reading to Old Trafford for the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Rashford had scored 10 goals in his last 10 games previous to this meeting and the 25-year-old’s spectacular form makes him Erik ten Hag’s most potent weapon.
And it looked like that goalscoring run was extended to 11 in as many games roughly halfway through the first half when his header crossed the line.
The goal was, however, controversially overturned by VAR after Wout Weghorst was deemed to be offside, as seen below.

Casemiro’s pass was aimed for Bruno Fernandes but a block by Reading deflected the ball into Weghorst’s path, who headed it towards the back post.
The two sides went into half-time level and with United’s schedule busier than ever, Ten Hag will be hoping he can secure passage into the next round as soon as possible.
