(Video) Harry Maguire delivers verdict on Casemiro’s impact at Man United

Harry Maguire was offered a rare start on Saturday as Erik ten Hag slightly rotated his side for this weekend’s FA Cup fourth-round fixture against Reading at Old Trafford.

The United skipper has dropped down the pecking order this season as Ten Hag prefers Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez over the England defender.

He was, however, in good form for the meeting with Paul Ince’s men and speaking after the game, he delivered his verdict on Casemiro’s impact at the club after the 30-year-old scored two goals to secure United’s passage into the next round.

“He’s been what he’s been brought in to do,” Maguire told ITV Football, as seen above. “He’s a phenomenal player, he has been throughout his career. You don’t win what he’s won without being a top player.

“He’s improved the team, he’s improved the morale, he’s improved the performance and it’s great to have him.”

United will now face Nottingham Forest in the return leg of the Carabao Cup as Ten Hag eyes a first final in charge of the club.
