(Video) Manchester United fans fall onto pitch as advertising hoardings collapse at City Ground

Absolute scenes at the City Ground as Manchester United fans fell onto the pitch after the hoardings collapsed as they celebrated a third goal against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

The players ran towards the away end after Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0 and gave United a big advantage going into next week’s second leg at Old Trafford.

United’s travelling support stood in the front of the away end to celebrate their goal before, without any warning, the board suddenly fell forward, leaving a number of fans thumbing onto the pitch.

Neville said it was unpleasant to watch because it’s only normal to fear the worst when these situations happen.

“It was an unpleasant watch that for a moment or two, but it looks like everybody’s okay over in that corner,” Neville said on Sky Sports commentary, as per the Mirror. “They’re putting the advertising board back.”

Thankfully, there has not been any reports of people getting hurt in the process, meaning that everyone returned home safely after a brilliant night at the football.
