Leeds aim dig at Manchester United with Chris Armas announcement

Leeds United aimed a sly dig at Manchester United when announcing the appointment of their new assistant manager, Chris Armas, who spent some time at Old Trafford last season.

Armas will be remembered for his work under Ralf Rangnick but he has now formed a reunion with Jesse Marsch. The pair worked together at New York Red Bulls and now they are side-by-side in the biggest league in the world.

However, Manchester United fans were quick to spot a minor dig at their club in Leeds’ statement.

The announcement read Armas had worked previously at ‘another Premier League club’ – referring to his short spell at Old Trafford.

Leeds’ statement read: “Armas spent two years in charge of New York Red Bulls, whilst also had managerial experience with fellow MLS outfit Toronto FC.

“Last season, Armas spent time as an assistant at another Premier League club, working under Ralf Rangnick.”

Fans took to social media to react to Leeds’ subtle dig.

I don’t think any of us will be losing sleep over Armas joining Leeds. It’s not like was a respected figure during his time at the club.
