William Saliba wants revenge against Manchester United

Arsenal defender William Saliba gives the impression he is gunning for Manchester United’s arrival at the Emirates on Sunday. The Frenchman has been part of a defence that has yet to concede a goal in 2023, although they’ve yet to face an in-form forward like Marcus Rashford.

Saliba says Arsenal will be out for revenge when they take on United this weekend after suffering a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford in September.

“We know we face a big game this week. We know they [United] beat us,” Saliba told the Evening Standard after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

“They are the only team to beat us this season in the Premier League and we want to beat them again at home.

“We will prepare very good for this game I think, and I hope we will win in front of our fans.”

Even as a United fan who can tend to see everything through red specs, I remember feeling a bit lucky that day, particularly given how well Mikel Arteta’s side performed away from home.

Ahead of the trip to London, Erik ten Hag was quick to praise Arsenal on their form this season.

The manager’s comments prove that I wasn’t the only person Arteta’s side made an impression on that day, however, I still don’t see them winning the Premier League title.
