Manchester United squad confirmed for Sunday’s clash against Arsenal

Manchester United travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday for a Premier League clash against league leaders Arsenal.

The Red Devils will be without midfielder Casemiro for this weekend’s match, but as Erik ten Hag stressed in his pre-match press conference, United were able to beat Arsenal without the Brazil international earlier this season.

Casemiro has been one of United’s best performing players since arriving from Real Madrid but picked up a fifth fellow card in the Premier League against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. That rules him out of the trip to London.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag commented on two further doubts in the his squad, including Diogo Dalot and Anthony. Neither of them were spotted as the squad left Manchester for the capital, photos courtesy of the Manchester Evening News.

This means we could be set to see Wout Weghorst make his second start for United after making his debut on Wednesday at Selhurst Park. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is almost a certainty to start at right-back.

Jadon Sancho, who returned to training on Tuesday, has not made the trip to London. As we suggested on the blog yesterday, Ten Hag is prepared to ease the winger back into action.

Academy star Kobbie Mainoo was also spotted with the first-team squad.

Confirmed squad: De Gea, Heaton, Butland, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Malacia, McTominay, Mainoo, Fred, Eriksen, Fernandes, Elanga, Antony, Pellistri, Garnacho, Rashford, Weghorst.
