Marcus Rashford is in red-hot form at the moment and the 25-year-old will be wondering how far he can take this after yet another memorable afternoon.

Prior to this Saturday’s Manchester derby, Rashford had scored in eight consecutive games at Old Trafford and in all six games since club football was resumed after the season was paused to accommodate the World Cup.

The tricky winger spurned two great chances in the first half and when he pulled up with an apparent hip injury, it looked like the record would come to an end.

Thankfully, the half-time break was just around the corner and he was able to return for the second half refreshed. Bruno Fernandes scored the equaliser and just minutes later, Rashford scored the winner and extended his goalscoring streak.

The goal, assisted by fearless youngster Alejandro Garnacho, means that Rashford has now made history once again, having already equaled Wayne Rooney’s record of goals in consecutive home matches.

According to OptaJoe, Rashford is now the first United player to score in seven straight appearances since Cristiano Ronaldo did so 15 years ago.

Furthermore, also according to OptaJoe, Rashford’s winner is the latest evidence to show that he turns up for the big occasions.

As per the statistical account, Rashford has now scored 27 winners in the Premier League. That’s 40.3% of his total tally (67), which is more than any player in Premier League history with 50+ goals.
