Manchester United shortlist Southampton right-back

Manchester United have reportedly added Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to their transfer shortlist.

Erik ten Hag will be in the market for a new right-back if he doesn’t sign one in the summer, which is mostly due to the fact Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s days at Old Trafford appear to be numbered.

It could be argued that United don’t need to spend big in the search for a new right-back, though. Do we need a starter or a back-up option when you consider how well Diogo Dalot has done this season?

For instance, I don’t think Southampton’s Walker-Peters will start ahead of Dalot, but he may be worth considering if the Saints go down this season.

According to talkSPORT, Walker-Peters is pushing for an exit from St. Mary’s and it is also claimed that Chelsea are interested in his signature.

There is no denying that Walker-Peters would be an upgrade on Wan-Bissaka, who has played well recently, but we shouldn’t forget that Ethan Laird should be even better when he returns from his loan spell at QPR.

Let us know in the comments section if you think United should sign Walker-Peters.
