Youngster Anthony Elanga started in his first Manchester derby on Sunday.

Everton have outlined Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga as their main transfer target in the January transfer window.

That is according to The Telegraph, which has confirmed the Toffees’ desire to sign United’s academy graduate.

The 20-year-old is utilised as both a starter and off-the-bench option at Old Trafford; he has started five league matches and featured in a further seven as a substitute this season, registering one assist in all appearances.

Elanga is an academy graduate and has worked his way through the ranks at Carrington to cement his place in the first team.

The report also confirms that the Red Devils are unwilling to oversee Elanga’s departure unless they sign a suitable alternative to replace the attacker.

Should he stay or should he go?

The Sweden international can provide on the occasion but is currently not at the same quality as the competitiors in his position, like Marcus Rashford.

A loan spell may be beneficial for Elanga to develop at a Premier League side in which his performances will not be magnified the same way they are at United.
