Manchester United lead the way in race to sign Joao Felix

Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Atletico Madrid and Portugal forward Joao Felix.

According to Marca, as per the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are leading the race to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix in January, overtaking Arsenal before the transfer window opens.

The report suggests that United are in pole position to sign Felix ahead of the Gunners, who are currently leading the Premier League after an impressive start to the season.

Felix got on the scoresheet last night as Atletico Madrid beat Elche 2-0 – in a match that saw three red cards.

While it has been revealed that Erik ten Hag will target loan signings due to limited funds at the club, it has also been mooted that United will not pay the loan fee it would take to bring Felix to Old Trafford midway through the season — even though it would be a signing that could enhance our chances of finishing in the top four.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail ran a report on Arsenal enquiring about Felix. It would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s side after losing Gabriel Jesus to an injury before the World Cup.

Meanwhile, United are in desperate need of a centre-forward and I am not sure Felix fits the profile of player Ten Hag wants to add to his squad.
