Manchester United have three targets after missing out on Cody Gakpo

Manchester United didn’t have the funds available to compete with Liverpool for the signing of Cody Gakpo, but it is no secret that the Netherlands star was one of Erik ten Hag’s targets.

Manchester United insist their focus remains on the summer transfer window, but they are open to doing a loan deal to ensure that Ten Hag has a centre-forward for the second half of the season.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United have looked at AC Milan and Portugal forward Rafael Leao, Juventus and Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic and Benfica and Portugal star Goncalo Ramos.

None of these players will be arriving in January and we will probably need new owners to afford them in the summer.

After terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract last month, there is a belief that United are targeting an out-and-out No.9 and we already know that Gakpo doesn’t fit into that category. And neither does Leao.

With just 20 goals scored in the Premier League this season, Ten Hag knows it is an issue that must be addressed if United are to compete for the title in the coming years.

Let us know in the comments section who you would sign next summer.
